HP Photosmart e-All-In-One Wireless Printer Review

Now on special offer due to the model being discontinued, the HP Photosmart Wifi e-AiO Wireless Printer offers borderless printing, 1200 x 2400 dpi scanning and copying, integrated card reader, and wireless for under £40!

Most users of this printer comment that it is easy to set-up when using Windows 7 or Vista, however a few reported problems with older operating systems. The printer can take a while to warm up and can be a little noisy at times; but produces decent prints. Definitely not up to professional photographer standards, but good enough for most peoples untrained eyes. The paper loads from the front and print speeds are healthy.

The HP Photo Creations program that comes on the disk provided allows you to create albums, greeting cards, and party invitations. In addition the HP Smart Web printing program makes printing from the web easier.

Print based applications (apps) are available from the HP App Store using the ePrint Centre. You can also sign in using existing Google or Facebook accounts, meaning you do not have to set up another account.

There are some handy features like passport photo printing, email to print, scan to PC etc. For the email to print option the printer does not have to be switched on as any data will be stored in the memory until the time you wish to print it out! This useful feature makes the printer stand out at this new price point.

The printer uses four separate HP 364 cartridges. The HP364 Black, HP364 Cyan, HP364 Magenta, and HP364 Yellow priced at between £7 and £12 each. Compatible and refillable cartridges are available for these models but do not contain a microchip! You have to transfer the chip from the original HP cartridge. Unfortunately the Ink monitor will always read as empty after doing so.

At just £39 this machine offers decent value for money with nice features and design. We really wanted to give this printer a 'Good' rating, but the printer vibrates and is noisy in operation. Only HP OEM cartridges are available with a microchip, so printing costs are high. For this reason we have downgraded it from Good to OK, however If you are a moderate user then the HP Photosmart Wifi e-AiO Wireless Printer is not a bad option.
