Workforce WF-7515 A3+ Business Printer Review
After watching Brother and HP introduce A3 printing and scanning to the masses, Epson now embark on a similar project with their new A3 multi-function Workforce WF-7515 printer.
With a design to emulate a larger office photocopier using toner powder, the Epson Workforce WF-7515 printer using Inkjet technology aims to provide a low cost solution for designers, engineers and architects alike. Not only does the machine print up to A3 in size, it also scans A3 documents!
Like other modern printing devices, the Epson Workforce WF-71515 printer has been designed to accept data from a variety of places which include tablet computers, smart phones, and wireless computers via Ethernet, Wireless, or Epson Connect. Using Apple Airprint it is also possible to email documents and pictures from anywhere in the World to an Internet connected Workforce WF-71515 so that they can be printed later.
Being a business machine it is important to have a large paper tray to avoid regular loading. The Epson Workforce WF-71515 has a 250 page capacity paper tray and a 30 page A3 ADF document feed capacity for scanning and faxing.
The front fascia contains the large 6.3cm LCD screen and extensive control panel with numerical pad, directional menu, function, colour / monochrome print, and on / off buttons. Housed to the left are memory card / USB flash ports and PictBridge socket.
Not only does the Epson Workforce WF-7515 A3+ printer only cost £250, Epson claim running costs to be half that of competitive laser printers. This is dependent on using the XL Stag Inks which print up to 1000 pages (untested). The Stag Colour Multi-Pack T1306 costs around £35 and the Stag Black Ink Cartridge about £22. Alternatively you can use the lower capacity Epson Apple series cartridges. Compatible T1295 sets are available for £15. Empty Refillable T1291-T1294 cartridges are now available which can be refilled with premium quality bulk refill Ink lowering the price of printing considerably.
We look forward to inspecting an Epson Workforce WF-7515 A3+ so that we can investigate its capabilities further.
