Pixma MG3150 Wireless Printer Review The new Canon Pixma MG3150, which includes several enhancements from the lower MG2150 model, including Wi-Fi and Duplex printing. This model also supports the new Canon Easy Photo Print App for use with mobile devices. The Canon Pixma MG3150 offers photo lab quality photographs with 4800dpi resolution and speeds of 9ppm for mono and 5ppm for colour prints, all for the low initial hardware purchase price of around £69 at launch. Even though Canon printers and digital SLR cameras seem to be winning awards, cheaper Canon printers struggle in reviews due to high running costs. The Canon MG3150 uses the new PG540 and CL541 Fine Ink cartridges that use the ChromaLife Ink system. They include a built-on print head and contain a small amount of Ink inside. This new printer offers good value for money for moderate printer users, however heavy users will struggle with regular Ink replacement costs unless using XL version cartridges. Refilling the new PG-540 and Cl-541 cartridges has not yet been tested, so we are not sure if it is possible to recycle these cartridges successfully? If you require WiFi and possibly duplex printing then it may be worth spending the extra £20 on this model compared to the MG2150. Otherwise we would recommend the cheaper sibling. Much better still, why not pay extra for the award winning MG5250 with better performance and features?
